Birchbox Unboxing and Review

So I finally decided to cave and join the world of subscription boxes. This is my very first subscription box and of course, I decided on one focused on beauty. I read a gazillion reviews online, and if you are wondering about Canadian subscription boxes, Canadian Subscription Box Addict is a great website to learn all about these boxes full of goodies!

I subscribed to Birchbox and Ipsy and guess what, on a horrible Monday, I come home from work to find these beautiful packages in my mailbox! Talk about brightening a crappy Monday!

I will talk about Birchbox in this post and will do a separate post on Ipsy.

So my friends, what is Birchbox? It is a beauty box subscription service – they send you a selection of sample sized products (5 samples) each month that are matched to a beauty/skin profile you fill out on their website. It is about $15 a month. From what I hear, Birchbox is focused more on skincare products.

Ok so here are pictures of the Birchbox unboxing.

Tony Moly lip tint that apparently doesn’t budge all day – can’t wait to give this a try.

and to finish it all off … a Dr. Jart Hydrogel Mask for my parched skin. I guess I need to give Korean sheet masks another try! (I know this is a bad picture)

Overall, I am pretty impressed with the selection in this box, and how they actually did send me products that were tailored to me. I am excited to try these products and will keep you guys posted once I have had a chance to use them!

Do you guys subscribe to Birchbox or any other subscription boxes? Let me know which ones you like!

  1. Birchbox was also my first subscription box but I ended up cancelling after almost a year because they send a lot of skincare and rarely makeup. I prefer ipsy, although they also send lotions and creams, they have sent me way more makeup items. The disadvantage is that the bags are not tailored to each person. Very cute pictures by the way and so great your Monday got better with your boxes!
